The name fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) comes from the old French fenugrec, in turn from the Latin faenum Graecum, literally meaning "Greek hay". The seeds' valuable substances include mucilage which helps to reduce irritations to the stomach lining and alleviate stomach ailments.
The horses showed significantly less tossing and/or shaking behaviour, as well as improved
concentration and less susceptibility to distraction. The positive result also aroused the interest of the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, with whom Ewalia was already in active communication during the implementation of the study.
